Tasman Charters specialise in fishing charters, diving, harbour cruises, sightseeing trips, and commercial work in the coastal waters at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. We primarily operate around Nelson, Tasman Bay, the Abel Tasman National Park, D'Urville Island, and the Marlborough Sounds, and also provide commercial boating services.
Aboard our 14 metre boat, "Desperate Measures" you'll find a large expansive deck, BBQ, beverage station, hot shower, and toilet, with a large fishing and diving platform. We fully accommodate for up to 12 passengers on the large deck and in the comfortable and spacious interior. Our large canopy can provide all-day sun cover.
Owned and operated by Craig Tatnell out of D'Urville Island. Craig leads a dedicated and professional crew who have years of experience in the industry. This ensures you will have a exciting and safe time out on the water with outstanding hospitality and service. Craig and his partner Cathy also own and operate the D'Urville Island Wilderness Resort.

Tasman Charters can accommodate 10 divers and 20 bottles per trip to stunning local destinations including Tasman Bay, D'Urville Island, and the Abel Tasman National Park. Our crew know all the best spots to dive and our charter boat features an expansive fishing and diving platform with large canopy cover to keep you sheltered throughout the day.
Tasman Charters offer drop-off and pick-up services for mountain bikers and kayakers between D'Urville Island, Nelson, the Marlborough Sounds, and French Pass, with the option of staying overnight at the D'Urville Island Wilderness Resort. Our charter boat has an expansive rear deck to accommodate plenty of bikes or kayaks and all your gear.
The Tasman Charters vessel is also designed for commercial work with a large onboard capacity, 14 metres in length, and a 5 metre beam. We are available for coastal surveying, commercial transportation of people and goods, and as a convenient water taxi to the Abel Tasman National Park, D'Urville Island, and Marlborough Sounds from Port Nelson.
