The Tasman Charters boat is geared up with all the latest equipment and electronics for locating fish. The crew know all the best places to fish throughout the Marlborough Sounds, D'Urville Island and the West Coast, and can provide food and drinks throughout the day. We can also organise accommodation for passengers wishing to stay overnight at any of the remote destinations we visit.
Blue cod, groper, snapper, and kingfish are the most common types of fish to target and with the crew many years experience in the industry, you can be assured that you will have a good time out on the water and be in good hands doing so. Our vessel, "Desperate Measures" has recently arrived from Western Australia and is 14 metres in length with a 5 metre beam. Our trips to D'Urville Island are now available to mountain bikers to access the great selection of remote tracks, and you can now get access to these directly from Port Nelson.
Tasman Charters strongly supports sustainable catch and release fishing and recommends that our customers take home only what is absolutely necessary.
A minimum of 10 people are required for full-day or half-day charters.
